Position Overview:
As a Dishwasher at Seis Kitchen, you will play an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen. You will ensure all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment are clean, sanitized, and ready for use. Your reliability, speed, and attention to detail help support the entire culinary team and contribute to an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently to clean dishes, cookware, and utensils.
- Manually wash large pots, pans, and other kitchen tools as needed.
- Ensure all cleaned items are properly sanitized and stored in designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dish area, including sinks, floors, and trash containers.
- Assist with basic kitchen cleaning tasks such as wiping down surfaces, taking out trash, and sweeping or mopping floors.
- Monitor dish station throughout the shift and ensure it is stocked with necessary supplies (soap, sanitizer, gloves, etc.).
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient flow of dishes and supplies.
- Support the kitchen team with additional tasks as needed.
- Uphold Seis Kitchen’s standards for cleanliness, safety, and team collaboration.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a kitchen support role preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Physical Requirements:
- **Standing for Extended Periods:** Dishwashers spend most of their shift standing while operating dishwashing equipment or cleaning kitchenware.
- **Lifting and Carrying Heavy Items:** Must be able to handle heavy pots, trash bags, and racks of dishes, often weighing up to 50 pounds.
- **Repetitive Motions:** Dishwashing tasks involve frequent bending, reaching, and lifting, requiring physical stamina.
- **Working in a Hot and Humid Environment:** The dish area can become warm and steamy during peak hours. Adaptability to temperature and moisture levels is essential.
- **Handling Cleaning Chemicals:** Use of soaps, sanitizers, and other cleaning agents is required while adhering to safety protocols.
