JOB TITLE: Digital Department Creative Intern
PAY RATE: $20/Hourly
LOCATION: Washington, DC (Headquarters)
DURATION OF INTERNSHIP: June 30th – August 29th; 10 hours per week

PURPOSE: This internship program is designed to support SEIU’s Digital Department and contribute to innovative digital campaigns. As the digital department works to refine and experiment with our digital content; this intern will improve their graphic design and video editing skills by developing trending and impactful content for our social media channels. From creating dynamic vertical videos to supporting the Fight for a Union campaign— this internship will allow a student to build their portfolio and help the department develop engaging and fresh content for online channels.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Any one position may not include all of the specific duties and responsibilities listed. The intern will be responsible for assisting in a variety of digital communication tasks, including but not limited to:
- Supporting Digital Campaigns: Assist worker organizing campaigns by helping to create and manage digital content.
- Content Development: Help with planning, developing, and scheduling content for digital properties, emphasizing engagement.
- Social Media Coordination: Collaborate with the communications team to develop engaging social media content and manage weekly reporting.
- Data Analysis: Assist in collecting data to optimize social media and other digital efforts.
- Assist in organizing results and findings into presentations.
- Creative Collaboration: Work in coordination with other staff to help plan and produce content for SEIU’s social media channels.
- Research and Innovation: Explore and research new social media channels and tools to support SEIU’s digital communication strategies.
- General Support: Perform other duties as needed to assist the digital communications team in achieving its goals.
DIRECTION & DECISION MAKING: This position reports to the Deputy Digital Director and works under close supervision and guidance.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: All applicants must have graduated from high school or an equivalency program and be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an academic program; a focus on marketing, journalism, graphic design, or similar program is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is a part-time internship position. The Digital Department Creative intern will work remotely and be paid an hourly rate of $20.
