About This Role
The Product Manager plays a crucial role in leading the development of SEIU 775’s applications, such as ETL applications, Salesforce, and web-based applications. This role ensures our applications align with business objectives, support data-driven decisions, and drives membership growth. The ideal candidate has a strong background in product management, application development, and business analysis.
Essential Functions:
- Work closely with all stakeholders to understand SEIU 775’s overall goals, objectives, business processes and workflows, and business requirements.
- Develop and execute product strategies and roadmap for the responsible systems.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all product-related inquiries and communications. Advocating for customers within the organization and making sure the voice of the business is heard
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for product enhancements and new features based on user feedback, business needs, and developing technologies.
- Lead product development lifecycle, from ideation and requirements gathering, to design, development, testing, and launch.
- Engage and collaborate with cross-function teams deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.
- Conduct thorough business analysis to understand stakeholder needs, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
- Gather and document detailed business requirements, use cases, and process flows.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories for the development team.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on product progress, key metrics, and any issues or risks.
- Stay current with software updates, features, and best practices, and drive the adoption of new capabilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban for efficient product development.
- Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies.
- Clear understanding of software development lifecycle.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, capable of working effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Clear communication and people skills that can articulate product visions and strategies to the stakeholders, convey the "why" behind product decisions and fostering a shared understanding of the product’s purpose and value, and Negotiation and Persuasion: Balancing different interests, building consensus, and driving stakeholder buy-in.
- Familiarity with business process improvement and workflow management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management for software development, with a focus on data management systems and online application development.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex products from concept to launch.
- Experience with data management platforms like Snowflake and Salesforce, including Apex and Lightning components are strongly desired.
- 5 years experience in business analysis, including requirements gathering, documentation, and process modeling.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time, exempt position. As a Full-Time, Exempt employee you are not eligible for overtime. Hours of operation will depend on what you and your supervisor agree to. Must have flexibility in schedule during extended business hours allowing stakeholders to access services. From time to time, the Product Manager may be expected to participate in Union activities outside of normal business hours, including weekends and after-hours.
- This position is 75% remote, 25% at HQ Seattle. The position is normally required to be in the office at least two (2) days weekly, or when needed (based on business needs). Department Director has the ability to depict work schedules.
Compensation:
Providing current or previous salary information is optional and will not be factored into hiring decisions. Prospective Employees covered by the CBA can request a copy of the wage scale, the CBA, and any current relevant MOUs upon application to the position.
This position is full-time, exempt. This position is not included in the Bargaining Unit. Pay ranges from $103,957 – $127,005 per year. Benefits include vacation, holiday, and sick leave benefits, fully employer paid health, dental, vision, and life insurance, defined benefit pension plan, and optional 401(k), WFH credit, and more.
