Job Title: TEMPORARY Regional Coordinator

SEIU UHW-West & Joint Employer Education Fund
The Education Fund is a non-profit partnership between six Locals of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and 22 Healthcare Industry employers, serving the education and training needs of 100,000 eligible workers. Our mission is to empower our diverse healthcare workforce to advance in a changing environment through innovative education and training solutions. Our program and budget have doubled in scale over the last five years to provide career advancement and continuing education services to 20,000 learners annually, and we are positioned for continued growth with new partners and funding.
Principal Purpose of Job: Coordinates and leads projects related to Education Fund services and programs. Provides career and education counseling to learners interested in advancing in the healthcare field. Works collaboratively across departments on various tasks such as vendor management, budget, timeline, organization, and the flow of information.
Level of Authority: Performs duties as directed, following general policies and procedures.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in an office or virtual environment, dependent on location.
- Travel is required.
- Will attend or lead meetings with stakeholders (Union staff, Human Resources, Vendors, Staff, Learners, and other Ed Fund collaborators).
- Fast-paced office setting with frequent interruptions.
Essential Job Functions:
Incumbent must have the skill, ability, and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Project Management:
- Lead the work within the region by collaborating with multiple stakeholders to prioritize and execute Education Fund programs and services.
- Responsible for creating and monitoring budgets for regional programs and services, including grant-funded opportunities.
- Establish strong stakeholder partnerships, driving outreach efforts including tabling, visiting facilities, and Member 2 Member.
- Responsible for coaching learners using strong instincts and certified coaching methods to listen for and identify potential risks and then create a successful plan.
- Organize and prioritize projects, work on multiple tasks simultaneously, and exercise initiative to meet/exceed deadlines.
- Provide customized training, including collaborating with programs and grants teams to execute.
Data Management:
- Ensure data quality for learners’ electronic files, including case notes, enrollments, Wrike, and Salesforce.
- Own data processing validation and reporting for programs
- Organizes and closes enrollments, including completing sanctions, reporting outcomes and rollovers.
Service & Information Liaison:
- Assist the Program Coordinator with provider research.
- Communicate effectively and timely across all Ed Fund departments and teams on multiple platforms (Slack, Zoom, Wrike, etc.) while keeping track of multiple streams of information and aligning with deadlines.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Capabilities:
- Multilingual (Spanish preferred).
- Experience in project management concepts or PMP certification is required.
- BA/BS degree required. (Consideration for past relevant job experience for internal candidates)
- Workforce Development experience in the healthcare labor market is necessary.
- Technology savvy. Database and project management applications (Adobe, Zoom, Salesforce, Cal JOBS, and more).
- Strong judgment and decision-making on when to handle issues independently vs. when to consult with their manager. Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Collaboration is a core value and skill set. The ability to influence and lead teams and individuals across the organization and at the client, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills, builds trust quickly.
- Strong data analysis skills are a must.
- Must have a valid California Driver’s License, use a vehicle, and maintain an appropriate level of car insurance.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods.
- Ability to stand, work, and drive from one location to another.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
