Role Purpose :
The Researcher supports union campaigns, community organizing, and political campaigns. This position involves industry research, policy analysis, financial analysis, and other research analysis. The Researcher will support nursing homes across Illinois, and they build power and fight for economic, social, and racial justice through our union. They will join a robust campaign of nursing home workers demanding big nursing home chains put resident care and the resident care workforce first through organizing, collective bargaining, and public policy. The Researcher is expected to work across locals on various industries and campaigns, as assigned, and may be assigned to other areas or divisions as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Compile, summarize, and analyze data on industries, specific companies, individuals and issues in support of health care and / or long-term care division campaigns.
- Assist in production of written materials for internal and external audiences.
- Assist in maintenance of databases and development of other data resources.
- Respond to requests for information and analysis from organizers or other staff.
- Define, develop, continually revise, and execute a research work plan for multiple campaigns; meet deadlines.
- Synthesize relevant facts / issues from a large amount of information / data.
- Learn and develop new skills to keep pace in analysis of rapidly changing industries.
- Work collaboratively with research team to identify and address cross-division Local issues, opportunities, and challenges.
- Perform other duties as required to support the department and its mission.
Scope and Nature of Supervision :
The Researcher must be able to organize their time and develop and carry out work plans with minimum supervision or daily direction. They must also be able to effectively give and receive feedback, and work together with direct supervisor, peers, organizational leaders, members, and their direct staff, if applicable.

Salary Exempt position is competitive and commensurate with experience. Target compensation is $57,030 - $60,453 . Company-paid Benefits are included.
