Maintenance Team Leader

Job Title: Maintenance Team Leader – Plastic Injection Molding

Location: Dadeville, Alabama

Job Summary: SJA, Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Team Leader to join our maintenance operations at our automotive interior parts manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the plastic injection molding process, related machinery, and systems, as well as strong expertise in welding and OSHA compliance. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility by maintaining equipment, performing preventive maintenance programs, and leading a team of maintenance technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Maintenance Management:

· Coordinate maintenance activities for plastic injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and facility systems.

· Resolve issues with machinery, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

2) Preventive Maintenance:

· Perform and follow preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

· Work closely with Maintenance Supervisor to maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.

3) Operation of Specialized Equipment and Machinery

· Boom Lifts

· Scissor Lifts

· Overhead Cranes

· Forklifts

4) Team Leadership:

· Lead and assist Maintenance Supervisor in training maintenance technicians, providing guidance on best practices and safety protocols.

· Carry out tasks directed by Maintenance Supervisor and monitor the performance of the maintenance team.

5) Welding and Fabrication:

· Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify equipment and structures in and around our facilities.

· Knowledge of Rack Storage Systems and Maintenance.

· Knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, and Chiller Systems.

6) Safety and Compliance:

· Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.

· Assist Maintenance Supervisor in conducting regular safety inspections and audits of equipment and the facility.

7) Continuous Improvement:

· Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisor to identify and implement improvements to equipment and processes.

· Stay current with industry trends and advancements in maintenance technologies.

Qualifications:

· Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, engineering, or a related field preferred.

· Experience: Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with plastic injection molding equipment is required.

· Technical Skills:

· Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding machines, robots, and auxiliary systems.

· Proficiency in welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick welding) and fabrication.

· Familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

· Regulatory Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards.

· Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a maintenance team.

· Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues and implement effective solutions.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.)

· Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery.

· Ability to stand, walk, and work in various positions for extended periods.
