As a Construction Project Manager, you will report to the Director of Operations and play a critical role in the planning, execution, and completion of diverse commercial projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Clearly define project objectives, scope and deliverables in collaboration with clients and internal teams.
- Create detailed project schedules ensuring alignment with over project timelines.
- Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, architects, consultants, inspectors, and vendors to complete each project on time.
- Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various states of the project.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to assistant project managers and junior team members.
- Conduct site visits and proactively identify potential risk/challenges that may impact project success.
- Develop budgets, ensure cost controls, and submit invoices.
- Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Lead meetings and deliver regular project status reports to management.
- Serve as primary point of contact for client and provide timely status updates on the progress of projects and anticipated completion.
Requirements
- 5 years of progressive experience managing commercial construction projects up to 5M.
- Experience building restaurants, retail, office, and medical facilities, additions, renovations, and new construction in the light to mid commercial size range preferred.
- Expert multi-tasker with the ability to work on 4 to 6 projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work from company office and visit project sites as needed. Some flexibility to work from home.
