Pay: $24.33 - $30.29

Position Summary

The Engineering Technician II is responsible for hands-on support of production operations by performing troubleshooting, and working with floor operators on process stability and improvements. This mid-level role also supports the Manufacturing Engineering department by creating models and detailed drawings under the direction of the Engineering Manager.

The Engineering Technician II Will

  • Provide engineering support of production activities and improvements by partnering with production and quality leadership, and team members to assess and analyze production issues.
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide accurate time estimates to production management for process routings.
  • Provide engineering department support, working with design and manufacturing engineers to develop tools and work instructions to be used to manufacture products.
  • Initiate planning and engineering changes following engineering change flow processes.
  • Manage required documentation including purchase orders.
  • Monitor product quality and repair/rework of parts, including processing of rework orders.
  • Create work instructions and industrial writing work with operations in the ERP system.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to grasp new concepts and ideas quickly.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, interpret and communicate standard engineering plans, specifications and drawings.
  • Working and applied knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of GD&T.
  • Ability to navigate 3D models to understand engineering requirements.
  • Experience with composite manufacturing processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience fabricating and assembling composite structures.
  • Familiar with CNC Machining process and capabilities.

Education

  • High school diploma required. Associates degree in engineering preferred.
  • Pre-engineering related coursework or vocational school; or equivalent knowledge gained through experience.

Experience

  • Ten or more years in a production manufacturing environment or five years in similar role.

Computer Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Proficient in related computer software and technologies including Solidworks and CATIA.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency with CAD.

Working Conditions

  • While performing typical duties of this job, production employees will experience the conditions noted below. PPE is provided to protect employees against physical harm or hazards in the workplace environment.
  • Usually work indoors. These sites may not be temperature-controlled.
  • Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
  • Exposure to hazardous equipment.
  • Exposure to contaminants.
  • Shared workspaces with other employees.
  • Requires handing objects of up to 50 lbs.
  • Lifting pushing, pulling, and bending.
  • Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies based on role, shift, and overtime).

Required PPE provided by SEKISUI Aerospace based on the employee's position and exposure. Below are typical PPE used on the production floor. Appropriate PPE must be worn by all employees when on the production floor.

Pay

SEKISUI Aerospace is required by Washington law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a Washington resident. Pay ranges may be higher or lower for non-resident WA employees, based on the market data for their region, allowing us to pay employees competitively in different geographic markets.
