Job Description:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:
- Responsible for ensuring accurate file/job (i.e., shipments) accounting in CargoWise and other Transportation Management Systems for all global operations activity and accurate trial balance integration from CargoWise to global GL and consolidation financial/management reporting system, ensuring strong internal controls.
- Define, document and implement standard file/job reporting and close processes for all Seko Cargowise instances, ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Document and ensure the operations file/job processing teams comply with file/job operating internal control procedures.
- Develop best practice workflows and procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial and operational KPI reporting and performance improvement for Operations, brokerage and clearance activity.
- Manage the operations accounting function and assure high quality accounting in all ledgers based on US GAAP and SEKO’s accounting policies
- Manage the monthly closing and reporting process for internal management reporting
- Ensure accurate accounting and timely monthly closing of all ledgers in line with US GAAP and SEKO’s global accounting policies, accurate and timely establishment of the monthly financial reporting and related reports from the company’s reporting environments.
- Manage cash flow, receivable collections and accounts payable management
- Manage operational accounting including file ledger and operational statistical values and sales reporting
- Develop best practice workflows and constantly improve productivity and reduce costs in the finance and controlling function
- Manages the International Accounting departments (inter-SEKO network settlements) ensuring reconciled positions, resolving disputes with network partners and stations, processing related payables and ensuring timely receivables collection.
- Supervise the onshore and the offshore Operations accounting teams in daily and weekly compliance reviews, month-end close procedures and reconciliations to ensure balances are accurate, sufficiently documented, and meet accounting requirements.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements and management reporting on a global basis.
- Support FP&A team to provide reasonably accurate actual reporting and to gather data required to prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Works closely with product line leaders and management to support business and profit improvement initiatives including KPI reporting and ad-hoc analysis.
- Coordinate preparation of monthly supplemental reports for management, including reviewing reports and information published in the digital performance managements systems.
- Responsible for PowerBI and providing accurate and timely Operations service and product financials, including digital performance management publishing, visualizations and analysis supporting management for all Operations product lines (air, ocean and e-commerce) via the Operations Control Dashboard.
- Develop / enhance standardization in file/job accounting practices utilizing existing technology platform (PowerBI). Standardize sales statistic views to enable speed in gathering actionable insights supporting improved sales and margin growth. Provide timely, value-added information for executive, product and operations management to identify and act on key financial business drivers.
- Develop / enhance the global accounting handbook together with the corporate controller
- Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace. Comply with instructions given for their own safety and health and that of others, in adhering to safe work procedures. Co-operate with management in its fulfilment of its legislative obligations.
- Other special projects and duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to accurately and efficiently close books, report timely results and explain variances

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
- B.S. Accounting degree and CPA required.
- 10 years in a senior-level finance role with general accounting close, report, analysis and audit experience
- Experience in the freight forwarding / logistics industry
- Experience with Cargowise
Preferred:
- Experience in the freight forwarding / logistics industry a plus.
- MBA
