A high-performing global hedge fund is looking to hire an Engineering Leader to report directly to the CTO, to own the firm's fixed income trading technology spanning trading (OMS, Execution, Post-trade), risk management, analytics, and middle/back office. The fund manages more than $10B AUM, and this individual will play a significant role in spearheading engineering growth and modernization. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience, direct experience working at a buyside firm in a fast paced environment, direct leadership experience, the ability to be hands on in Python, and strong fixed income knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 10 engineers and developers who contribute to the development and maintenance of fixed income technology
- Own fixed income technology, with an emphasis on trading and risk management systems
- Work closely with front office stakeholders to learn their requirements, and assist them in optimizing the tools and resources at their disposal
- Build PM tools and analytics for fixed income trading
- Interview, hire, train, and develop software engineers
- Manage upwards to keep stakeholders up to date on project timelines, challenges, delegation, etc.
- Bring ideas to the table for value-add development initiatives
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in Software Engineering
- Still hands on with Python
- Expert knowledge of fixed income or Rates/FX strategies
- Ability to manage/lead/guide large-scale engineering teams
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to work with executive-level stakeholders
