What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President - Private Equity position at Selby Jennings?
Key Responsibilities:
- Investment Origination & Sourcing: Identify and source new investment opportunities within the private credit space. Build and maintain strong relationships with intermediaries, borrowers, and other key market participants.
- Deal Execution: Lead and oversee the execution of private credit investments, including structuring, negotiation, due diligence, and closing of transactions.
- Portfolio Management: Monitor and manage a portfolio of private credit investments, working closely with the credit team to ensure alignment with investment strategies and performance objectives.
- Investor Relations: Present investment opportunities and portfolio updates to senior management, investment committees, and clients. Ensure effective communication regarding portfolio performance, risks, and returns.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior team members, including analysts and associates, in all aspects of private credit investing and transaction execution.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed on market trends, macroeconomic factors, and industry developments that may impact the private credit landscape.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in private credit, private equity, or a related investment field, with a strong track record of originating, structuring, and executing investments.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field is required. An MBA or CFA designation is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including proficiency with Excel, financial statements, and credit analysis tools.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex investment strategies and deal structures to internal stakeholders, clients, and investors.
- Leadership: Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of professionals in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of private credit, distressed debt, leveraged finance, or similar asset classes, and familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory considerations.
Salary : $150,000 - $250,000
