What are the responsibilities and job description for the Talent Development Specialist position at SELCO Community Credit Union?
Work Location
This position will report onsite to either the Corporate Headquarters location in Springfield, Oregon, or a branch in Bend, Oregon, and is possibly eligible for a hybrid onsite and remote work arrangement for those who meet the program requirements. This position does have an initial onsite onboarding period of between 6-8 weeks and is then eligible for hybrid thereafter.
Compensation
- Base Salary: The full salary range for the Talent Development Specialist position is $27.10 to $41.80 per hour, with new hires generally starting between $29.50 to $34.45 per hour, based on relevant knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
- Annual Incentive: In addition, all SELCO team members receive an annual incentive based on how well SELCO meets the prior year’s strategic business goals. This incentive is calculated using the team member’s prior year eligible earnings and ranges from 0%-12% (with the average payout over the last five years being 11.07%).

Position Overview
Support SELCO’s talent development efforts by developing and providing training to enhance individual and group performance, develop a knowledgeable and skilled workforce, and support SELCO’s brand and culture to enable recruitment and retention.

Position-specific Essential Functions
- Assess organizational learning needs and design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning and development programs and training solutions.
- Evaluate trainees and provide feedback to leadership teams.
- Effectively deliver asynchronous and synchronous training that accommodates diverse learning styles, abilities, motivations, and backgrounds.
- Effectively design, produce, and deliver asynchronous learning courses, including eLearning and video learning.
- Coordinate and conduct orientation and skills-based training.
- Maintain and organize training materials.
- Author, publish, and manage training resources, procedures, and job aids located on SELCO’s intranet.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; and
- At least two (2) years of training experience; and
- At least one (1) year of financial institution or similar industry experience; and
- Experience designing asynchronous training is preferred, but not required; and
- CPTD or APTD preferred; and
- Must be bondable.
Physical Demands
While performing the job duties, approximately 90% of the time is spent stationary, with the remaining time spent moving around work areas. Frequent communication occurs in person, over the phone, and in writing. This position requires the ability to view a computer screen and interpret printed materials and other documents. This position requires the ability to lift and transport up to 5 pounds, and there is an occasional need to stoop, kneel, or reach to access documents, equipment, and supplies.
