Hours: Full-time, 40 hour per week position, four 10 hour days.
Salary Range: Starting $22 per hour, depending on experience

What You'll Do:
- Work directly with Providers to support patient visits (pre-visit prep, visit, and post-visit activities)
- Assist in population health management, quality improvement, and quality assurance activities.
- Understand and apply principles of aseptic technique and Universal Precautions for infection control.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA, PPI regulations, and SVTHW policies and procedures.
- Prepare patient for exams, procedures, and treatments.
- Obtain chief complaint, provide basic screening tests and collect vital signs.
- Assist with exams, procedures, and treatment as required
- Recognize and respond to emergencies
- Coordinate patient car information with providers.
- Send letters to patients with laboratory, radiology, and procedure results as directed.
- Communicate effectively with patients and co-workers.
- Clean, stock, and maintain patient care areas, equipment, lobby, and laboratory, Clean, package, and sterilize supplies and instruments
- Maintain clinical supply inventory
- Collect and process lab specimens and CLIA-waived diagnostic tests
- Perform requirements for OSHA and CLIA compliance such as refrigerator temperatures, lab quality assurance tests, autoclave spore tests, etc.
- Perform basic clerical functions
- Participate in orientation of new staff
- Assist in making patient referrals and patient follow-up as directed.
- Conduct patient education as directed.
- Be proficient with MA competencies and skillsets as outlined for work performed.
- Complete basic radiology training.
- Project a professional manner and image, adhering to ethical principles.
- Actively participate in one of the SVTHW committees as assigned by Management.
What You'll Need:
- Must possess understanding of human anatomy and medical terminology
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at a time
- Must possess great interpersonal and communication skills
- Must possess ability to work cooperatively and productively in a team environment and enjoy working in a health care setting.
- Experience in radiology
- Experience with injectable medications
- Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience:
- 1 years related experience in a clinical setting preferred
- Certifications and Licensure:
- MA Certification or Community Health Aide Certification preferred. Will consider LPN, EMT, or CNA. Phlebotomy Certification strongly preferred. CPR Certification required -but may be provided or updated by SVT.
Travel Requirements
Travel between communities, Seldovia, Homer or Anchor Point by boat, plane, or car is required. This travel is subject to inclement weather conditions and may require overnights in Seldovia, should weather cause travel cancelations.
