What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ticket Agent position at Seldovia Village Tribe IRA?
Come join our team at Seldovia Bay Ferry (SBF)!
This position is based in Homer.
Hours: Part-time, schedule will be determined by ferry service hours. Approximately 3-4 hours per day (1 1/2 to 2 hours in the morning and 1 1/2 to 2 hours in the afternoon/evening), 5 days per week, which includes weekends.
Salary Range: $16 per hour DOE
What You'll Do:
- Sell tickets to SBF passengers, provide customer assistance by phone or in person
- Interact directly with our customers
- Represent SBF's professional and positive image at all times
- Greet and assist all customers in a prompt, friendly and courteous manner
- Assist with special requests and planning suggestions for customers.
- Manage cash till, reconcile sales receipts, and drop off
- Represent SBF's professional and positive image at all times
- Other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
- A friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic personality, and be a team player!
- Be at least 16 or more years old
- Have strong communication skills, and demonstrated reliability and trustworthiness
- Have cash handling skills and ability to conduct basic arithmetic
- Have computer and mobile device literacy - including proficiency in web browsers, Word, Excel and Mac computers.
- Be able to see details at close range, especially on an electronic device
- Be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) if required, such as a life preserver
- Work both indoors and outdoors and subject to varying weather conditions. Be able to stand and walk frequently.
- Be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) if required, such as a life preserver.
- The ability to successfully complete a background check and pre-employment drug test.
- A valid Alaska Driver License
