Pay: Starting @ $16.50 hourly plus $0.75 shift differential

Shift: 2nd shift 2pm-11pm & 3rd shift 10pm-7am

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Assist in developing, managing and maintaining the company’s quality management systems. Communicate and train the company’s employees on the established guidelines, work instructions, procedures and policies related to adherence to quality system guidelines. Assist with company’s compliance efforts with USDA and FDA, Organic, Non-GMO, Gluten Free Certified and SQF guidelines.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Deploma or GED.

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (up to entire shift)

Must be detail oriented.

KNOWLEDGE

English Language

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Production and Processing

Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Technical Skills

  • Equipment Maintenance Evaluate equipment during pre-operational inspections to determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Equipment Selection Verify selected equipment has been cleaned prior to use in production.
  • Operation Monitoring Oversee the machine is functioning properly and follows sanitary compliance.
  • Quality Control Analysis Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

Tasks

  • Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, allegern testing, finished goods, or incubation samples.
  • Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release.
  • Perform visual inspections of finished products.
  • Compile test data and perform appropriate analyses.
  • Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures, including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, or inventory forms.
  • Calibrate, validate, and maintain testing equipment.
  • Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Supply quality control data necessary for regulatory submissions.
  • Inspect raw materials.
  • Investigate or report questionable test results.
  • Perform validations or transfers of analytical methods in accordance with applicable policies or guidelines.
  • Ensure that work area cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.
  • Identify quality problems and recommend solutions.
  • Monitor testing procedures to ensure that all tests are performed according to established item specifications, standard test methods, or protocols.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Participate in internal assessments and audits as required.
  • Evaluate analytical methods and procedures to determine how they might be improved.
  • Maintain and manage documented quality systems consistent with approved policies and procedures established by the company.
  • Communicate and train employees on system policies, procedures, instructions and guidelines
  • Help ensure company compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform product testing to ensure manufactured product meets established guidelines.
  • Monitor compliance with established quality systems through monitoring of product production and employee compliance.
  • Ensure compliance to all regulatory standards including HACCP, USDA, SSOP’s etc.
  • Record temperatures as required by policy.
  • Calculate product compliance percentages and complete data entry of product evaluations.
  • Verify code dates, ingredients, and labels.
  • Gather products for micro testing.
  • Provide documentation for HACCP, SSOP, and GMP.
  • Assist in providing backup and training new employees.
  • Read and follow company policies and procedures, as well as customer specifications.
  • Work collectively with USDA and other department managers/supervisors as needed.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, finished goods, or stability samples.
  • Perform visual inspections of finished products.
  • Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures, including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, or inventory forms.
  • Calibrate, validate, or maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Supply quality control data necessary for regulatory submissions.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Operations Manager.
  • Understand and follow established Policies, procedures, and Work Instructions for Select Brands.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.

  • Prepare information or documentation related to legal or regulatory matters.
  • Prepare daily operational paperwork and operational reports.
  • Record operational data.
  • Monitor operational procedures in technical environments to ensure conformance to standards.

Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material

  • Inspect areas for compliance with sanitation and organic/allergen standards.
  • Test finished products and equipment for allergen proteins.

Analyzing Data or Information

  • Interpret operational data.

Judging the Qualities of Things, Services, or People

  • Evaluate quality of materials or products.
  • Encourage/correct enforcement of GMP policy.

SUPERVISION REQUIRED

General Supervision: routine duties are performed with minimal supervision; standard practices or procedures allow me to proceed alone at routine work; occasional check of work while in progress; work is reviewed upon completion.
