What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President, Financial Operations position at Select Medical?
Overview
The Vice President of Financial Operations will be responsible for interpreting and communicating the financial results and analysis to the operations leaders and other key leaders within the organization. They will assist in the development of the financial management strategy of Select Medical for the Inpatient division (LTACH and Rehabilitation).
Responsibilities
- Advise key leaders on financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow for the Inpatient division.
- Contribute to the development of Select Medical’s strategic financial goals and objectives.
- Identify potential financial issues or concerns; communicates and facilitates problem resolution.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of the annual budget process for the Inpatient division.
- Ensure that Select Medical’s Inpatient division is adhering to the financial strategic plan and identifying any potential challenges that may deviate from that plan.
- Provide financial analytical support to Select Medical’s key leaders and stakeholders.
- Oversee and manage the work of the Inpatient Finance team(s).
- Mentor and develop staff, monitor staff performance and set expectations for the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Finance required with CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
- Ten plus years experience of proven ability in a senior management role with financial management experience in a complex organization.
- Healthcare experience is required.
- Knowledge of risk management principles and practices to identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks.
- Strong strategic thinking, judgement, analytical and creative problem solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with all levels of the organization and any internal/external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of success in navigating organizational change and leading a team.
- Excellent executive presentation skills and presence.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and work with team members across the organization.
- Must have the ability to occasionally travel.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products, with a strong working knowledge of Excel. Experience in One-Stream, Oracle, and Navan preferred.
