Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and develop individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments.
- Provide specialized instruction and resources to support students' learning needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and classroom materials.
- Teach students skills in orientation, mobility, and independent living.
- Monitor student progress and communicate results with parents, teachers, and school administrators.
- Support the development of assistive technology skills to enhance students’ academic experiences.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Teacher Certification with a specialization in Visual Impairments is required.
- Previous experience as a TVI or in special education is preferred.
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and Braille is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for fostering independence and success in students with visual impairments.
