Job Description
- As a Supplier Quality Manufacturing Engineer, your day will be filled with engaging interactions with suppliers, analyzing data, and driving continuous improvement. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met, while fostering strong relationships with our valued suppliers.
- Lead Product Qualification Activities at Suppliers – Product and Process Qualifications (PPQs)
- Contain, manage and resolve Quality issues relating to supplier non-conforming components identified at Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine (AGT) Siemens Energy assembly facilities, warehouses or customers globally.
- Manage suppliers to properly handle non-conformance issues.
- Assist with process improvements.
- Lead supplier root cause investigations and corrective actions through Problem Resolution process.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing capability issues within the supply chain to ensure business continuity.
- Identify and support cost reduction opportunities through interaction with the Supply Chain/Strategic Business
- Audit existing and potential suppliers to determine capability of manufacturing and ensure quality systems are in place.
- Develop supplier capability to meet current and future requirements
- Interact with customer-facing businesses to investigate potential product non-conformances
Required
- Technical training or further education in quality, mechanical, or electrical engineering
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM) and Quality Control routines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of drawing interpretation (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Implements the agreed commodity and SQM strategy (including value, digitalization and collaboration)
- Drives supplier performance and continuous improvement and collaborates in supplier development programs.
- Creates and negotiates General Quality and Quality Assurance agreements and monitors supplier contract coverage rate.
- Applies preventive quality methods aimed at risk minimization.
- Designs, maintains and improves specific quality requirements, specifications and concepts based on supplier and product/service risk assessment.
- Supports standardized supplier qualification process according corporate guidelines (ready for business).* Coordinates product/service qualifications and approvals based on specific requirements/specification (ready to order).
- Ability to project manage Product and Process Qualifications and unexpected Supplier Quality Issues from beginning to end.
- Knowledge of inspection methodologies and assessment of inspection capability.
Preferred
- Experience or working with critical parts.
- Proven track record of application of Quality improvement processes and tools (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa)
- SAP experience.
