Job description
- Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program/school.
- Phlebotomy certification
- Spirometry certification
- Audiometry certification
- Room patient and obtain vital signs.
- Obtain surveillance questionnaires and consent forms.
- Assist the provider with patient examinations.
- Accurately interpret instructions and communicate clinical information to patients related to provider’s orders.
- Use of an electronic medical record system for appointment scheduling, check in, and scheduling follow up appointments.
- Draw blood; perform patient injections (vaccinations) as directed by provider; administer clinical screening tests, e.g. hearing tests, visual test screening, pulmonary function tests, urine collection
- Schedule and follow up on patient appointments; accurately provide information within defined limits and answer basic questions.
- Prepare blood for laboratory tests; ensure samples are ready for delivery with all appropriate documentation.
- Update and chart electronic patients and office databases.
- Respond to first level inquiries from patients, HR, university departments, and outside of the university.
- Follow up with vendors, pharmacist, labs, and referral doctors. Purchase office and clinic supplies as directed. Check and perform quality control prior to any use of equipment.
