What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector / Quality Inspector position at Select Source International?
Job Requirements / Skills:
- Able to speak and read in English (without the need of a translator)
- Able to write legibly in English
- Able to use an optical microscope to perform visual inspections for extended periods of time
- Able to perform visual inspections with the unaided eye (corrected vision is acceptable) from a distance of 12-18 inches
- Able to perform functions utilizing automated/manual equipment requiring correctable vision including color discrimination
- Able to perform dimensional inspections with rulers and basic measurement equipment using inspection instruction documentation
- Able to work with production equipment, including small hand tools, test equipment, and precision measuring instruments
- Able to organize and record dimensional data on paper-based forms
- Able to determine disposition of rejects using inspection instruction documentation
- Able to sit for extended periods of time
- Able to work in a low-particle environment, and to comply with cleanroom / controlled environment entry, gowning, and room requirements (gown, hairnet, beard cover, non-Latex gloves, no makeup, no candy/gum, etc…)
- Able to work in an environment with minor exposure to isopropyl alcohol chemical
- Able to perform fine motor skills and manual dexterity with both hands (example: hold and use cutters, use tweezers, pick up small parts)
- Able to demonstrate comprehensive product assembly techniques, related process knowledge, plus a mastery of appropriate skill sets as confirmed by cognizant Engineering and/or Production/Quality Assurance supervisory personnel
- Able to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Able to perform regularly scheduled overtime; work hours not to exceed 60 hour per week.
- Able to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines in timely manner, with strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
Desired Experience:
- Related experience in the assembly and/or quality inspection of Class III implantable medical devices, Class II medical devices, or micro-electronics.
- Minimum 5 years medical device or related assembly/inspection experience.
- Prior experience working in an air-conditioned, cleanroom manufacturing environment is required.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand engineering drawings, inspection instructions that use schematics, diagrams, notes, and layouts.
- Demonstrated ability to frequently use small hand tools; demonstrated eye-hand coordination and capable of working with small precision devices.
- Ability to work as an individual contributor within a production team.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and basic math skills.
