JOB DESCRIPTION
The Lead Estimator for Pipeline projects is responsible for overseeing and managing the estimation process for all pipeline-related projects. This role requires a deep understanding of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project scope to provide accurate cost estimates and ensure the successful execution of projects within budget.

The Lead Estimator for Pipeline projects is responsible for overseeing and managing the estimation process for all pipeline-related projects. This role requires a deep understanding of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project scope to provide accurate cost estimates and ensure the successful execution of projects within budget.
The essential job functions include, but are not limited to
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Identify and quantify cost factors, such as construction time, materials, and labor expenses.
- Identify quantity takeoff/receipt points, terrain features, and critical risks for construction, such as pipeline crossings, road bores, and risks to the Right of Way (RoW).
- Prepare and present cost estimates and budgets.
- Review and update estimates as project details change.
- Maintain a database of historical cost data for reference in future estimates.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and contract negotiations.
- Monitor project costs and provide regular updates to ensure projects stay within budget.

Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) are a plus.
- Must be able to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in estimating for disposal and pipeline projects.
- Strong understanding of disposal and pipeline construction processes, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
