A leading industrial services provider is seeking an experienced Process Weld Manager to oversee welding training and auditing for field service personnel. This role ensures safe, accurate, and cost-effective welding processes through hands-on training and certification management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field welding applications, working with aged equipment in various environmental conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and execute welding training programs for new and existing employees.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, including AWS D1.1 code and pressure vessel requirements.
- Conduct field audits to uphold welding quality and safety standards.
- Provide hands-on instruction in MIG, Stick, 3G, 4G, 6G, Sub-Arc, Plasma Cutting, Arc-Gouging, and Stainless Steel/Exotic Metals welding techniques.
- Address welding challenges such as dissimilar material welding, degraded surface preparation, and out-of-position welding.
- Support safety initiatives and ensure adherence to best practices in field welding operations.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in welding-related construction or maintenance trades.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in multiple welding processes, field welding applications, and AWS D1.1 code.
- Education: Engineering degree preferred, but equivalent field experience will be considered.
- Financial Oversight: Experience managing budgets and cost-efficiency for a welding program.
- Field Experience: Strong background in welding on old equipment and outdoor environments.
- Soft Skills: Excellent training, communication, and auditing abilities.
- No direct reports.
- Work Attire: Business casual.
- Overtime: Not expected.
