Sr. Estimator - Building Automation Systems

Our client is currently seeking a Sr. Estimator.Summary : The Sr. Estimator will analyze drawings, specifications, RFPs, proposals, and other documentation to prepare material quotes, direct costs, and labor estimates for Building Automation System projects and services.Job Duties : Preconstruction engineering review and assessment of plans and specifications.Review customer information to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; selecting vendors or subcontractors; and determining cost effectiveness.Use Estimating tools to develop quotes. Update pricing database from quotes received on each bid to maintain current pricing.Consult with clients, vendors, and internal resources to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.Participate in pre-submittal meetings to review material costs and substantiate labor estimates.Organize and manage a process to support cost estimating to ensure historical data is utilized.Analyze completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and determine the reason for any discrepancies.Provide cost estimates and proposals for change orders, typically needed within one day.Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.Requirements : Ability to provide accurate estimates based on drawings provided by General Contractors and / or clientsAbility to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawingsAbility to provide a take-off of P&IDs for process and mechanical systemsKnowledge of PLC and / or DCS SystemsKnowledge of Instrumentation and Control Valve ProductsExperienced knowledge of Building Automation or Facility Control Systems for Mission Critical (Data Center) or Advanced Manufacturing InfrastructureExperienced knowledge of HVAC Control ApplicationsExperience in developing complex estimates from 30%, 60%, and 90% design statusAbility to multi-task and meet strict deadlinesAdvanced Proficiency in Excel.
