This firm works on a variety of projects for governmental agencies.Employment Type : Contract-to-DirectLocation : Greenville, SCExpected Hourly Pay Range : $45-$55 based on experience and certifications, before permanent conversionJob Requirements : -U.S. Citizenship requiredBachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and minimum five (5) years of work-related experienceWorking knowledge of applicable federal (including Department of Energy orders), state, and local codes and standardsAbility to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to project management, coworkers, clients, vendors, and subcontractorsJob related technical knowledge necessary to complete the jobIntermediate knowledge of discipline codes and standardsAbility to perform work in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal codes, statutes and guidelinesAbility to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective mannerIntermediate computer and software skills to include proficiency in the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programsExperience providing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services on commercial or industrial projectsProficiency executing EPC projects utilizing engineering analysis, 3D modeling and 2D computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) automation tools in a multi-discipline environmentDiscipline Specific RequirementsIntermediate knowledge of performing hand and computer calculations for foundations, concrete, and steel structuresIntermediate knowledge of one or more of the following structural design software : STAAD, STAADPro and RISA3DIntermediate knowledge of MathcadIntermediate knowledge of : Analyzing complex structuresWind and seismic loading in structural calculations Dynamic analysis and designComputer modeling and analysis Blast designIn addition to these requirements, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as Selectek is unable to provide sponsorship or work visa documentation.Job Duties : Under direct supervision of the Discipline Lead Engineer or Area Lead Engineer, analyze and make independent recommendations regarding technical solutions to problems of intermediate complexity in accordance with project requirementsDevelop and review specifications and design criteriaPerform and check engineering analyses and calculations; specify materials, equipment and systems; and solve technical problems of intermediate complexityCoordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors and clientsExecute work in compliance with Project Quality Plan and proceduresExecute work in accordance with the approved project scope, cost and schedule baselinesEstablish, control and report on material key quantities; provide analysis and forecastsProvide technical support to activities associated with equipment and material procurement and subcontracting including scopes of work, technical bid evaluations and review of vendor submittalsProvide technical support to activities associated with construction administration including response to construction requests-for-information and field changesSchedule : Monday – Friday, typically 8 : 00a – 5 : 00p.
