Telecom Field Services Specialist

Job description

• Serve as the subject matter expert to consult with project management.
• Perform bid walks, evaluate site conditions relative to scope of work and out of scope work and prepare cost estimates.
• Comply with carrier specifications on all site construction by detailed coordination, review and approval of all documentation including but not limited to construction reports, grounding reports and as-builts.
• Monitor and report performance of projects by ensuring full utilization of tracking tools and reports, observation of and attendance at progress meetings, and direct interaction with personnel and management for feedback.
• Coordinate schedules, cost, and estimations.
• Read and interpret Construction Drawings, and other site-specific documentation.
• Responsible for close out packages (deliverables) to the management team.
• Responsible for production reporting, hours, time off, new/damaged equipment needs etc. to the superiors.
• Identify change orders, obstacles, and safety concerns that may impede the scope of work (SOW) timeline.
• Adapt and able to learn new SOW.

 Skills Required

• General telecommunications or general civil construction experience.
• Utility knowledge background is a plus.
• Knowledge of industry best-practice safety procedures, and willingness to enforce them.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license and clean driving record. 55%-65% travel weekly
• Ability to give and take direction.
• Desire to succeed and learn new skills and adapt with changing priorities.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow and work independently.
• Ability to complete detailed forms and reports.
• Proficient working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to send/receive appropriate emails and feedback.
• Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
• Able to work safely outside in all weather conditions.
