Night shift: Monday- Friday 10:30 pm.-7:40am and every other weekend Saturday 7:00 pm.-7am. Sunday 7:00pm.-7:40am.
Note: This position requires the C.N.A. or Direct Support Professional to adapt to the client's quality of life. Caregiver must be able to sit in a quiet atmosphere with little to no lights on while in the clients home. Caregivers are expected to stay awake and provide every 15 minute checks. (Prior experience is expected for this position.) The Direct Support Specialist or Nursing Assistant must be non-smoker for the client's health condition.
This position does not come with any form of benefits.(#1 client only) It is not recommended that a D.S.P have personal or other “obligations “that interfere with the work schedule. (Interviews are conducted on all shifts and weekends.)
Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated C.N.A. or Direct Support Professional to join our team. Responsibilities:
- Physical stamina to lift patients and perform tasks that require standing for extended periods.
- Assist client with daily living activities, including meal preparation and personal care.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support client in achieving their personal goals and enhancing their independence.
- Engage clients in social, recreational, and community activities to promote inclusion and well-being.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment within the home setting.
- Document progress and changes in client behavior or health status accurately.
- Provide first aid as necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Collaborate with other family members, caregivers and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Support patient with rehabilitation exercises and physical therapy as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient needs.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills related to patient care and emergency medicine.
- Lift and transfer patients safely using proper techniques to prevent injury.
- A compassionate demeanor with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with home health care practices is a plus.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Strong caregiving skills, including meal preparation and medication administration.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting is helpful.
- Strong patient service skills with a focus on empathy and compassion.
- Experience in hospital medicine or assisted living environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with hospice care practices and working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Knowledge of emergency medicine protocols is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a staff-oriented environment.
