Direct Support Professional

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities in a group home setting. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for our clients through patient care, assistance with daily living activities, and fostering independence.

*Night shift are NOT available

*Some weekends required

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living tasks, including personal care and hygiene.
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist clients with meal planning.
• Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote social skills and community involvement.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment for residents.
• Provide support in managing behaviors and implementing individualized care plans.
• Document client progress and communicate effectively with the care team.
• Administer CPR and first aid as needed, ensuring the safety of all individuals in your care.

Experience

• Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Background in patient care or social work is advantageous.
• Familiarity with group home environments is a plus.
• Skills in meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning are essential.
• Certification in CPR is required or must be obtained within the first month of employment.
• A patient, empathetic approach to assisting clients is crucial for success in this role.
• Experience with AAC preferred but not required

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
