The Family Resource Navigator will be an integral part of Self Enhancement, Inc. (SEI) Extended Day team and will be working with parents or guardians of students participating in our SUN Community Schools. This position will work alongside school families to help reduce barriers and stressors in the home, and promote self-sufficiency, so that students can learn and families can thrive. The Family Resource Navigator will be responsible for administering resources and providing support to alleviate barriers for students and their families. Assistance may include housing and energy assistance, domestic violence advocacy, and workforce or career development. This position reports to the SUN Site Manager.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with SUN Community School Team to identify families and conduct an initial assessment to determine eligibility for family resource support & services and help families navigate additional systems of care
- Help families obtain food, rent, utilities, public benefits, school-based resources, and/or employment systems
- Connect families to resources that address and assist in their universal household needs.
- Support family engagement strategies in order to gain trust and build relationships with families so they can feel comfortable asking for support.
- Lead one on one and small group skill building workshops and fun events for parents; reducing language barriers; outreach and raising awareness about potential resources.
- Submit required paperwork and data entry to the SEI Data Department in timely manner
- Maintains case files and documentation as required by funding source
- Conduct follow up assessments for all participants who have exited the program
- Provide information and referral assistance regarding community resources and services that cannot be met through SEI (e.g., legal, social, mental health, domestic violence, employment, and education)
- Monthly data collection and quarterly Data reporting
- Accepts other appropriate duties/responsibilities as assigned by SEI management.
- High School graduate and Two (2) years work experience in a social service environment preferred.
- Ability to successfully connect with and motivate parents and care givers.
- Ability to work with students and families of diverse backgrounds
- Assertive Engagement and/or Trauma Informed trained
- Ability to be a positive role model for parents and young people.
- Ability to successfully work with varying levels of parenting skills, from intensive-need to leadership.
- Must be self-motivated, with excellent organizational skills.
- Must be detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines and complete extensive paperwork
- Basic computer skills to include Microsoft 365 Office Suite.
- Must have current and valid state drivers license, in good standing with no insurability restrictions and must be insurable under SEIs auto insurance policy.
