The MDS Coordinator will ensure compliance with all regulations and deliver quality services to elders and their families.
In addition:
- Understand MDS module, RAP and Care Plan process.
- Knowledge of State and Federal requirements pertaining to MDS.
- Accurately assesses LTC and Rehab Residents for documentation required.
- Complete all RAI processes within the mandated time frame.
- Transmit the MDS accurately, and within the allotted time frame.
- Follow up with the other Interdisciplinary Team members to ensure compliance within RAI process.
- Conduct Care Plan review meetings with sponsors and family members.
- Audit MDS module for accuracy and compliance.
- Attend in-services to maintain up to date information regarding MDS.
- Keep DON, Administrator and Supervisors well informed.
- Communicate well with sponsors.
- Seek guidance when unsure of course of action.
- Interact with nursing team.
- Be knowledgeable and prepared to implement the new PDPM per CMS requirements.
Education and Skills
- Graduate of an approved RN program with current Alabama licensure.
- Previous MDS experience required.
- Must be familiar with rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
