Self-Help’s internship program is designed to give students valuable experience in a professional setting while broadening their knowledge of Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). We are seeking a Deposit Raising Outreach Intern to join our Sacramento Team!
Are you interested in helping individuals and families overcome financial obstacles? Self-Help's Sacramento team is seeking an intern to support their efforts to create and protect ownership and economic opportunity for everyone, especially low-wealth families and individuals, communities of color, women, children, and immigrants. The team supports members in the Sacramento Region by offering a range of products and services, including personal loans, auto loans, deposit accounts, commercial loans, and mortgage loans. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week onsite summer internship runs from May 19th to August 1st and offers a professional development experience designed to enhance your skills and knowledge.
WHAT You’ll Do:
- Community Engagement & Education Programs
- Organizing and participating in financial literacy workshops, seminars, and community events to raise awareness about deposit products and financial planning.
- Partnership Development with Local Organizations
- Building and nurturing relationships with local businesses, nonprofits, schools, and other community organizations to promote deposit products and services.
- Tailored Outreach to Underserved Populations
- Focusing on reaching underserved or underbanked communities by offering customized deposit products and services that meet their specific needs.
WHAT You’ll Need:
- Undergraduate or graduate students; recent graduates welcome to apply
- Demonstrate a sincere interest in non-profit work, education, advocacy, or social work
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills

Intern Hourly Range*: $22.00 (Undergrad); $24.200 (Grad) *Pay ranges vary by geographical location
