Self-Help started in 1980 with a focus on economic inequality especially in communities that have faced systemic barriers in building wealth. Self-Help’s internship program is designed to give students valuable experience in a professional setting while broadening their knowledge of Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). It is our hope that we can educate and create a passion for the field of community development in the next generation of leaders.
We are seeking an Intern to join our Legal Team!
Are you interested in supporting a team that delivers legal services across all of Self-Help's national operations? The legal team provides proactive advice to help Self-Help address complex issues, improve processes, and support the organization’s overall success. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week hybrid summer internship runs from May 19th to August 1st and offers a professional development experience designed to enhance your skills and knowledge.
WHAT You’ll Do:
- Conduct legal research to support ongoing projects and initiatives
- Draft detailed memorandums on various legal topics
- Collaborate with and gather information from other CLIR teams to advance research efforts
WHAT You’ll Need:
- Currently in enrolled with or recently graduated from an accredited law school
- Demonstrate a sincere interest in non-profit work, education, advocacy, or social work
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- An enthusiasm for learning
- Strong attention to detail
