Hiring: Accountant
Location: Houston, TX
Salary: $70,000–$80,000/year
A well-established hospitality company is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accountant to join its growing team. Reporting directly to leadership, this role requires a hands-on professional capable of managing all aspects of bookkeeping and accounting while maintaining confidentiality and precision.
Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
- Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
- Maintains the general ledger.
- Involves heavy transactional work requiring an attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
- Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
- Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
- Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
- Maintains confidentiality and system security.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of accounting experience required (manufacturing industry a plus)
- Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks Enterprise, Bill.com or MarginEdge preferred)
- Experience with inventory management system (COGS-Well or similar)
- Strong background in cost accounting.
