What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Dietitian, Full Time, First Shift position at Self Regional?
Screens patients to identify those at nutritional risk, those patients not receiving diet and those on modified diets. Completes nutrition assessment,
implements nutrition therapy, monitors and evaluates progress as related to the patients' desired outcomes and provides documentation to
support nutritional care. Implements and monitors the provision of nutrition support for enteral and parenteral nutrition, for our patients.
Educates in-patients and out-patients upon physicians' referral or based on identified need. Communicates and assists in resolving patient
related concerns. Participates in Room Service patient menu development and CBORD software systems. Provides nutrition in-services/education
to dept. and staff and other healthcare team members. Provides support/recipe development for the healthy café selections (“Self-Select/Chef
Cares”). Supports any community/wellness requests; such as healthy recipe development and promotion for the local farmers market. Supports
activities to precept dietetic interns. Participates on various committees to support dept. or house-wide activities as needed. Performs all other
duties as assigned by Clinical Nutrition Manager and Director of Food and Nutrition.
Special Qualifications
A graduate from an accredited school with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in dietetics, foods and nutrition, food service systems
management, clinical nutrition, or a related area. Currently registered with ADA or registry eligible and attend continuing education
programs to maintain registration as RDN and certification by the CDR. Licensed by the state of SC. Must keep up to date with the latest
nutrition research. Must have excellent: customer service, communication and organizational skills to: convey up- to- date technical
information/guidelines into practical eating advice for patients, groups and community applications.
