What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Staff - Baylor, NICU position at Self Regional?
Utilizing the Nursing Process (Assessment, Planning, Nursing Diagnosis, Implementation and Evaluation) provides and documents professional nursing care to patients in accordance with the medical plan of care, critical pathways, established SRH and Nursing Policies and Standard Work. Incorporates the principles of statistical analysis, scientific theory, developmental and decision-making skills for better patient outcomes. Participates in unit/organizational data collection, analysis, and review as well as process improvement work groups. Applies knowledge, interpersonal and leadership skills to improve healthcare delivery. Utilizes effective communication to teach patients and families how to comply with treatment plans to maintain good health. Functions in the role of charge/lead nurse and coordinates and delegates the care with/to other
professionals and ancillary personnel. Serves as a resource person for other SRH/nursing personnel to resolve work-related issues. Eligible to participate in the Clinical Ladder program. Obtains NRP certification within first year of hire and recertifies every 2 years. Maintains annual Moderate Sedation competency. Performs any other job related duties as requested by Nurse Manager or Director.
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina. ADN degree. BLS certified. Must have or obtain NRP certification within first year of hire.
