What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Staff, Pediatrics position at Self Regional?
Utilizing the Nursing Process (Assessment, Planning, Nursing Diagnosis, Implementation and Evaluation) provides and documents professional nursing care to pediatric patients in accordance with the medical plan of care, critical pathways, established SRH and Nursing Policies and Standard Work. Incorporates the principles of statistical analysis, scientific theory, developmental and decision-making skills for better patient outcomes. Utilizes effective communication to teach patients and families how to comply with treatment plans to maintain good health. Functions in the role of charge/lead nurse and coordinates and delegates the care with/to other professionals and ancillary personnel. Serves as a resource person for other SRH/nursing personnel to resolve work-related issues. Eligible to participate in the Clinical Ladder program. Obtains PALS certification within 1 year of hire and recertify every 2 years. Maintains annual competency related to unit specific Code A responsibilities. Maintains annual Moderate Sedation Competency. Participates in any other job related duties as requested by Nurse Manager or Director.
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina. ADN degree. Must have or obtain PALS certification within one year of hire. BLS certified.
