What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician II Certified, Outpatient Pharmacy position at Self Regional?
Under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, responsible for data entry, counting and labeling prescriptions, maintaining adequate inventory levels (balance on hand and minimum inventory) of in-date pharmaceuticals in the Outpatient Pharmacy through daily ordering on WAC and 340B accounts and returning overstocks and outdates, clerical functions in the Outpatient Pharmacy, weekly controlled substance count, maintaining current retail prices through daily electronic price updates, proper use of the Point of Sale register, balancing the cash register daily, communication of pertinent information to patients regarding medication therapies, consulting with the pharmacist on DURs and allergies, providing friendly and efficient customer service, problem solving, maintaining personal professional competency, and aiding performance
improvement initiatives. Performs any other job related duties requested by pharmacy management.
Must be at minimum registered with the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy as a technician. Preferred to be certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), and registered in good standing as a "State Certified Pharmacy Technician" with the SC Board of Pharmacy. If not currently certified, certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Must have basic typing skills and a working knowledge of computers and equipment utilized in the preparation, dispensing and distribution of pharmaceutical products. Must also have great customer service skills, adaptability, flexibility, be able to work as part of a team, and be able to problem solve.
