As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Equipment Operator to join our dynamic maintenance and construction team.
Position Summary:
The Equipment Operator/ Foreman will be responsible for safely operating and transporting a variety of heavy machinery (2024 GMC 3500 Dually), including a CAT 305 Mini Excavator (2024), CAT 259 D3 Skid steer (2024)(with Auger, Trencher, and Grapple attachments), and a Massey Tractor. The role also involves operating mentioned machinery, using a one-ton dually truck and trailer for transportation of equipment, and general labor on the construction site as well as maintenance projects at various self storage facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a CAT 305 Mini Excavator
- Operate a CAT 239 D3 Skid steer (Auger, Trencher, and Grapple attachments).
- Operate a Massey Grading Tractor
- Load, unload and transport machinery using a one-ton dually truck and trailer.
- Safely drive and transport equipment to various job sites.
- Maintain and inspect equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines on job sites.
- Travel to job sites as required and stay on location for up to a week based on worksite needs.
- Complete various maintenance projects using company provided hand tools.
- Ability to self manage and report back to supervisor comments and observations.
- Management skills to supervise various sub-contractors.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience operating a grade tractor.
- 1 year of experience reading blueprints (preferred, but not required).
- 3 years of experience operating Mini Excavators and Skid steers
- CDL license (preferred, but not required)
- Forklift certified (preferred, but not required)
- Willingness to travel and stay at job sites for up to a week.
- Organizational skills to keep track of various company assets (trailers, equipment and hand tools).
- Computer skills, time is kept in phone apps and productivity is tracked by the hour in a phone app.
