Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Accounts Payable Specialist, specifically for the Management Company (Self Storage Plus Management, LLC in other terms "HQ") located in the Washington DC. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing invoices, managing expense reports,/intercompany transactions, ensuring timely payment, utilizing analytical skills, and handling finance and accounting tasks
Key Responsibilities
- Process and code a high volume of invoices across multiple properties, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Ensure timely payments to vendors by monitoring AP aging reports and proactively following up on outstanding balances.
- Collaborate closely with the Accounts Payable team, Controller, and department heads to resolve discrepancies and streamline processes.
- Manage intercompany transactions, including intercompany reimbursements and allocations.
- Allocate multi-store invoices across appropriate properties or departments accurately and efficiently.
- Work with vendors to address payment issues, discrepancies, and account inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain organized records of invoices, payment schedules, and correspondence for audit readiness.
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance AP operations and workflow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proficiency in accounting software is required, Yardi is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools is a plus.
- Background in real estate or property management is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
