Self Storage company is looking for an Assistant Manager to work part-time on Sundays 10am-4pm and on Mondays 9am-5pm in our Upper Marlboro, MD location. The ideal candidate will be reliable, self-motivated, have a customer-oriented personality with strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills. Interested candidates must be proficient with Microsoft Office and navigating the Internet. This is an independent work environment.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Helping customers understand their storage needs, renting units to new customers, processing payments, answering questions and solving problems
Open and close the office on scheduled days
Consult, sell, and upsell to promote merchandise sales
Assist Manager by ensuring accounts are current and perform collections responsibilities as necessary
Assist Manager by ensuring the appearance of the property is customer ready by conducting daily walk-throughs and maintaining the property
Assist Manager with cleaning vacated units and monitoring the physical condition of the facility
Rent, check-in, clean, and maintain Uhaul trucks
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Valid driver's license
Pre-employment background screening
Must be able to lift 25lbs
Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, sweep for extended periods during 8 hour shift
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of direct exposure to business operations, preferably in a customer service-oriented or sales organization.
Experience with light bookkeeping helpful.
Computer skills required.
