About the Role
We’re looking for a Self Storage Collection Specialist to manage overdue accounts across multiple storage facilities. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle collections professionally while maintaining positive customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Oversee collections for up to eight self storage facilities, working closely with facility managers.
- Contact past-due customers through phone calls, emails, and follow-ups to arrange payments.
- Negotiate payment plans while following company policies and self storage regulations.
- Keep detailed records of customer interactions, payment agreements, and collection efforts.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, coordinating with internal teams as needed.
- Process credit card payments, reconcile account balances, and submit invoices.
- Ensure a professional and customer-focused approach when handling past-due accounts.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in collections, preferably in self storage or a related industry.
- Understanding of self storage policies and best practices in collections.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with a professional phone presence.
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple accounts efficiently.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and storage fee calculations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with collection management systems is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with facility managers and leadership.
