Salary Range:    $20.32 - $20.32 Hourly

Description

OVERVIEW:  Valet attendant provides assistance, services and information to guests entering the valet area in order to assure a pleasant, comfortable visit for our guests, including all parking aspects and public safety.  The essential job functions are listed below but may include duties which are outside of these job functions which are required to meet the need of the organization.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Greet and welcome guest to the establishment and offer professional valet services within 30 seconds.
  • Follow guest arrival procedure (after greeting guest do vehicle damage check, write claim ticket, etc.)
  • Practice and adhere to AAA Basics – Attitude, Assistance, and Appearance.
  • Accommodate guests by opening doors and assisting with luggage or other heavy items.
  • Direct traffic in the parking area as needed and assist guests in entering and leaving the parking lot.
  • Answer guests' questions regarding local attractions, hotel amenities and other available services.
  • Collect and secure keys belonging to guests to ensure their proper return.
  • Park guests' vehicles in predetermined areas within the parking lot, following all traffic laws.
  • Operate vehicles safely and responsibility per Company policy and State Laws i.e. Fasten seat belt, no ear buds in ears, not texting and driving etc.  
  • Organize and file paperwork regarding guests' vehicles and daily transactions.
  • Follow hotel policies and procedures.
  • Ensure work area, including office, parking lot, and driveway are clean free of debris and obstruction.
  • Substitute for any position, if necessary.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING: 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year customer service experience.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 

  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record (preferrable to operate a manual transmission)

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Basic typing and word processing skills

  • The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds – request assisted for heavier items as needed. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employees is regularly required to walk, stand for long periods of time, talk or hear, and taste and smell.  

 

VISION REQUIREMENTS

  • Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet of more)
  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
  • Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point).
  • Depth perception (three dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).

  • This position works in an environment with moderate noise level.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions.
