Position Overview: Selis Law Firm is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Administration Paralegal to join our team. This role is integral to providing exceptional client service and ensuring the smooth handling of complex legal processes. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping clients navigate estate planning, probate, and trust administration with professionalism and compassion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in drafting and reviewing estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
- Manage the probate process from start to finish, including preparing court filings, inventories, accountings, and other required documents.
- Facilitate the administration of trusts, ensuring compliance with legal and financial obligations, and preparing correspondence and documentation for trustees and beneficiaries.
- Communicate directly with clients, financial institutions, and government agencies to gather necessary information and address inquiries.
- Maintain organized and accurate client files, both digital and physical, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in estate planning, probate, and trust laws.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, including client signings, court hearings, and consultations.
- Provide clear, prompt, and empathetic communication to clients throughout the process.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal in estate planning, probate, or trust administration.
- Paralegal certification or degree in legal studies preferred.
- Strong knowledge of estate planning documents, probate court procedures, and trust administration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal software, case management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
