Description
The Operations Financial Analyst will be a key liaison between manufacturing and finance as the subject matter expert in our cost accounting and inventory management systems. The role requires a solid understanding of manufacturing combined with attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills. The Analyst is a key member of the finance team and will support with analysis of cost, plant performance and inventory. This position will work cross-functionally to research and resolve discrepancies as well as support process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Inventory materials management including new item creation and ongoing maintenance, standard cost update and review, and bill of materials development.
- Monitor and investigate daily/weekly/monthly production variances.
- Reconcile inventory and ensure cycle counts are performed.
- Conduct analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues.
- Perform month-end close activities related to the recording and reporting of production costs, variances and inventory.
- Work with plant operations and supply chain to investigate issues and improve cost and inventory processes.
- Participate in new product launches to develop new inventory items and corresponding standard costs.
- Assist with general accounting duties as needed.
- Assist with the annual budget including development of standard cost.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in an advanced ERP system.
- Proficient in MS Excel.
- Must be detail-oriented and organized.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience Required
• Associate or BA/BS in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in manufacturing preferred.
