Job Description

Radio Frequency Communications Trainer and Training Developer is responsible for supporting the design, development, and implementation of Instructor-Led Training (ILT) in support of DoD systems, equipment, technologies, and applications. As a member of this team, you will support multiple DoD/DoN Program Offices and Learning Centers.
Responsible for the development/revision of curriculum to update/modernize NAVWARSYSCOM courses of instruction. Elements include:

  • Develop, maintain, and execute ISEA initial training for military and related civilian audiences on technologies and systems associated with the high frequency (HF) band including Battle Force Tactical Network (BFTN) and BFTN RC3 System Enhancement (BRSE) systems. The trainer should also "train the trainer" and certify (with tests etc).
  • Coordinate training, materials, radios/other equipment for students to use and then lead 2-10 day training courses (depending on HF Terminal, BFTN, or BRSE) and grade the students. Travel may be required to Norfolk, Hawaii, or Yokosuka.
  • Provide Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) expertise in support of curriculum development and execution through all phases of analysis and production.
  • Develop Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) training packages and Computer-Based Training, Naval Education and Training (NAVEDTRA)/Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) compliant and ILE/IMI curriculum packages in support of NAVWARSYSCOM initial system training.
  • Collaborate with In-service Engineering Agents (ISEA) across program offices to validate technical information in support of NAVWARSYSCOM programs of interest.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the ISEA, NAVWARSYSCOM, and Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) customers.
  • Participate in recurring meetings, both internally and externally, to discuss progress, technical accuracy, training standards, course events, and overall expectations.
  • Support and participate in training events such as Train-the-Trainer, Pilot Course, course assessments, and site surveys.

Trainer will support any required updates for the formal learning center; this includes both the Multi-Purpose Reconfigurable Training System (MRTS) 3D® system and associated curriculum in support of PMW/A 170 Training Service Agent (TSA) for the Journeyman Communication Courses located at various Information Warfare Training Centers (IWTCs

Job Requirements
  • Current Secret Clearance
  • 3 years of relevant experience to include Integrated Product Support Elements for Training and Department of Defense (DoD)/Department of the Navy (DoN) Training policies, guidance, requirements, and processes.
  • Knowledge of high frequency (HF) technologies and radio systems.
  • Knowledge of Battle Force Tactical Network (BFTN).
  • Familiarization with NETC Course Development, Revision, and Modification End-to-End (E2E) Process.
  • Experience in instructional systems design and courseware solutions following the (P)ADDIE model and employing Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM), Content Planning Module (CPM), and Learning Object (LOM) Module.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, Instructional Systems Designers, Multimedia Developers, Courseware Developers, and Stakeholders in the design and development of training solutions.
  • Experience with technical writing/curriculum development supporting scientific, technical, and/or engineering performance requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and understanding of DoD and Armed Forces organizational structure, ranks, and customs/courtesies.
  • Must have solid written and verbal communications with the ability to interface with government personnel both internal and external of PEO C4I.
  • Must have a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
