Selrico Communications, LLC has immediate positions for a lead Cabling Technician with at least 5 years of experience with pulling, routing, installing, and terminating cabling infrastructure in a commercial environment. Strong computer skills are a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Routing, terminating testing CAT 5e and CAT 6 cable
· Testing cable/troubleshooting CAT 5e and CAT 6 cable issues
· Closet buildout - Complete installation: Installing anchoring Cabinet/Racks, overhead runway, patch panel wire management mounting, grounding.
· Provide management of crew with proper, timely, and complete job documentation and project updates as required.
· Ensure completion of the job(s) with quality, timeliness, and safety.
· Will need to update and maintain records throughout each project as well as complete weekly paperwork, such as time sheets and vehicle inspection reports.
· Will require significant time doing manual labor functions, walking on uneven ground, working in tight spaces.
· Must be able to perform heavy physical work and perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
· Must understand the following: basic utility construction processes, possess a working knowledge of customers' specifications and OSHA standards.
· Must ensure that both he/she and all employees under his/her supervision comply with proper safety standards/ procedures and work practices according to OSHA standards, Cypress Edge Group and/or the customer, whichever standard is higher.
· Must be able to work flexible hours with the understanding that workdays can be more than normal hours and some weekend and holiday work may be required.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
· At least 5 years of experience installing copper cable in new and existing conduit for inside plant
· Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA or NEC Standards.
· Construction experience preferred.
· Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Must have a clear and valid Texas driver’s license.
· Must have a minimum of 5 years of driving history with a valid license, per our auto insurance policy.
· Pre-employment drug screen, 7-year criminal background check, and clean motor vehicle record is mandatory.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
