Job Details
Key Responsibilities
Provide L2/L3 production support for the Money Transfer System (MTS) during Chicago business hours.
Monitor system performance, resolve issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of MTS services.
Lead incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for system failures, performance degradation, or unexpected behaviors.
Interface with the Federal Reserve Bank for issue resolution and compliance adherence.
Work closely with business teams to understand their requirements and resolve functional/system issues efficiently.
Perform log analysis, debugging, and system health checks to maintain optimal system performance.
Collaborate with infrastructure, database, and application teams for problem resolution and enhancements.
Support message queues (MQ), ensuring seamless communication between MTS and external systems.
Execute and validate database queries (Oracle) to support troubleshooting and incident resolution.
Document issue resolution, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices for continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong experience in MTS (Money Transfer System) Production Support and troubleshooting.
Hands-on expertise in Unix/Linux administration for system monitoring and script execution.
Proficiency in Oracle Database (SQL, PL/SQL) for query execution and troubleshooting.
Experience with IBM MQ or other messaging middleware for secure and reliable data transfer.
Solid understanding of incident management, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
Experience in monitoring batch jobs, transaction failures, and system alerts in a production environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with business and technology teams.
Ability to handle high-pressure production environments and drive quick resolution of critical issues.
Familiarity with payment systems, banking regulations, and financial transactions is a plus.
Good to Have:
Experience with financial transaction processing and Federal Reserve Bank interfaces.
Knowledge of automation and monitoring tools for system health checks.
Familiarity with ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management
