What are the responsibilities and job description for the Global Supplier Quality Engineer position at Semblex?
Semblex is looking for a highly driven team member to oversee the quality activities of globally sourced products and assemblies for the automotive industry. This role will expose you to a high level of interaction with suppliers, customers, and Semblex team members to ensure quality and expectations are maintained through the entire supply chain. Responsibilities will include supplier development, customer support, coordination of key audits, product inspection, PPAP approvals, problem solving, and operational continuous improvement. The role also provides opportunities for international travel and collaboration with a wide range of teams, internally and externally. Success in this role will not only lead to growth in the initial position but provide a path for expanded responsibilities and involvement within the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education Four-year Engineering Degree preferred
- Six Sigma Black Belt or Other problem-solving training
- Experience 2 years in automotive quality or equivalent. Metrology and metallurgy
- Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of IATF-16949, ISO 9001, 8D, 5 Whys, 4M, ISIR, AIAG Core Tools, and auditing
Preferred but not required:
- Bilingual – English & Korean or Spanish
- Previous experience with MOBIS or Hyundai/ KIA (worked at a supplier that serviced these organizations)
Supervisory Responsibility:
- None
Physical Requirements:
- Physical requirements include: Lifting up to 20 pounds on occasion to handle computer hardware. May include kneeling, twisting, and maneuvering into difficult areas for purpose of hardware re-alignment or repair.
Working Conditions:
- Physical requirements include lifting to 30 pounds on occasion and walking between the different facilities.
