We are currently looking for an experienced candidate to join our team at the William J. Hughes Technical Center, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting the FAA's Integrated Enterprise Services Platform (IESP).
The IESP Systems Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting the hardware and software systems hosted on the IESP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the organizational duties and goals by monitoring IESP hardware and software systems.
- Provide 2nd Level Support for various systems hosted on the IESP, ensuring smooth operations and prompt issue resolution.
- Participate in routine hardware and software maintenance activities.
- Analyze and troubleshoot system problems, generating detailed reports with possible remediation solutions.
- Assist with the development and deployment of SSMs (System Support Modifications) under the direction of team leads.
- Provide technical support and apply engineering principles to develop and enhance programs, projects, and systems.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with one or more of the following technologies:
- RHEL OS System Administration: Experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
- Virtualization Technologies: Familiarity with VMware and similar technologies.
- Enterprise Server and Storage Administration: Including installation, in-service maintenance, data backups, and monitoring of servers and storage solutions.
- Network Equipment Configuration/Troubleshooting/Support: Expertise with configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, both physical and virtual.
- Network Security Implementation: Knowledge in firewalls, access control lists, group policies, and endpoint security (including antivirus, AAA—Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting).
- Protocol Analysis Tools: Proficiency with tools such as Wireshark for protocol analysis and troubleshooting.
A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 3-5 years of experience is required. This position is located in the Atlantic City, NJ area where an on-site presence is required.
