What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Labor Production Worker position at Semcor, Inc.?
The general labor production worker position performs all tasks involved in the production of the company’s products. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. This individual will work on behalf of the project manager to ensure organization, preventative maintenance, and upkeep of the building and shop floor are complete.
Essential Functions
- Safely operate a variety of hand tools
- Clean and clear debris from shop floor, parking lot, and around the building
- Organize, move, and put away inventory, material, and/or supplies
- Upkeep of exterior appearance potentially including painting bollards, replacing light bulbs, or spraying weed killer
- Assist with upkeep of building and equipment
- May be required to perform general assembly-oriented tasks
- Reads routing and performs work as assigned by department supervisor.
- Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
- Pack finished goods into correct packages and boxes.
- Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
- Place finished goods on the designated pallet.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment and occasionally may be required to work outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to climb ladders, operate power tools, forklifts, or overhead cranes, and use hands for fabrication or assembly of products. Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds and be on feet for 8 hours each day.
