What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Preschool Teacher position at Semiahmoo Kids Kamp?
Our staff is nurturing, enthusiastic, works well in a team environment, and is teachable. Staff must be dependable, on time, flexible and coach-able, with positive job references. Experience working in a licensed childcare is preferred.
Desired Qualifications:
- Provides loving and nurturing care for young children
- Uses positive communication with children, parents, and staff
- Maintains a safe and healthy learning environment
- Actively engages with children to create fun and meaningful experiences
- Cook all meals following menus and serving guidelines
- Help create new menus
- Maintain grocery list
- Label all food packages with date opened
- Label all leftovers with the brief description of contents
- Clean out fridge weekly or more often as needed
- Do dishes and clean kitchen after each meal or more often as needed
- Supervise food allergies, ensure appropriate food is served, and train other staff members as needed to ensure safety of the child.
- Give staff breaks as needed
- Fills in classrooms as needed
Job Requirements:
- ECE Initial Certificate (or ability to obtain after start date)
- 30 hour STARS basic - (Obtain after start date)
- Valid infant/child CPR and First Aid Card (or ability to obtain after start date)
- Proof of (or willingness to obtain) a Negative TB Test (Before starting)
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
-Food Handlers Card (Before starting)
- Ability to lift 30 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
